Sequential Batch Reactor
SBR
As opposed to the conventional activated sludge process in which wastewater treatment takes place in various, linearly arranged tanks, the SBR process (Sequencing Batch Reactor) occurs sequentially in the same tank.
Treatment Process
The resulting typical process step sequence is as follows:
- Filling and mixing or aeration
- Aeration
- Sedimentation
- Withdrawal of the treated water
Due to the special characteristics of the SBR, aeration may happen in different water levels (discharge pressure), APG-Neuros has several successful operations in SBR wastewater treatment facilities with frequent start/stop cycles and varying discharge pressure in more than 50 units in operation across North America such as City of Dryden, Ontario, City Of Shelton, CT, City of Salida, CA and many others which demonstrate a very strong reliability and suitability for this application.
