We are looking for an Aerothermal Design Engineer to join our product development team. This key role involves designing and validating turbomachinery components and the gas path, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. You will work on components such as compressors, volutes, turbines, combustors, recuperators, and connectors, while collaborating closely with the Performance and Mechanical teams.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
(include but are not limited to the following:)
- Design and validate aerothermal components of turbomachinery (compressors, volutes, turbines, etc.).
- Perform CFD analyses and thermo-structural modeling.
- Develop analytical models to assess leakage, thrust balancing, bearing loads, and more.
- Execute 2D/3D aerodynamic design of impellers, volutes, and other parts.
- Specify performance requirements for new products.
- Interpret analytical, CFD, and test data to improve designs and troubleshoot issues.
- Collaborate with the mechanical team on new component design and analysis.
- Prepare technical reports, memos, and presentations.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in turbomachinery design and development (or 5 years with a Master’s degree).
- Expertise in thermodynamics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer.
- Proficiency with ANSYS tools (CFX, BladeGen, TurboGrid) and SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of design best practices and sound engineering judgment.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Additional Assets
- Experience with ANSYS Mechanical.
- In-depth knowledge of turbomachinery components.
