Business Development Manager

A growing industrial equipment manufacturer in the Laval/North Shore area is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team. Reporting to the President, the Business Development Manager will be central to the company’s continued growth and success. This person will be primarily responsible for bringing in new clients and referral sources to the company as well as expanding and enhancing relationships with current clients.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of the company’s products, industry expertise, and business development capabilities;
  • Manage and improve lead generation campaigns, follow-up with sales on all leads, measure effectiveness and results and take actions to ensure successful business development.
  • Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for business and implement marketing strategies and initiatives to capture opportunities.
  • Analyze social media and SEO positioning to develop opportunities and marketing campaigns;
  • Direct marketing, strategic company events, PR and Ad Campaigns for targeting prospects and client relationship development;
  • Represent the company at networking and sponsorship events, seminars, and industry activities;
  • Warm and cold call to open new doors and make connections to new customers and industries.
  • Creating a target client profile, priority target list and database of prospects to be used for follow up sales activities.
  • Develop sales pipeline working closely with the sales team in order to provide them with market and competitive, materials and presentations .
  • Update the sales pipeline, activity log, as well as analysis and reporting on the results in the monthly sales forecast meetings;
  • Participate in proposal meetings with prospects and assist sales Managers with the proposal development, presentation and negotiation to close the sale.
  • Monitor the competition, write competitive analysis and provide guidance to sales on competitive advantages and winning sales strategies.
  • Carry out regional sales conferences, web conferences, web based sales training to our customer, potential customers and sales representatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing and business development skills,
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar position within the industry and technology;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in both English and French);
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed, proactive, results-oriented and have the desire to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced environment;
  • Must be available for international travel.

The Business Development Manager must have strong communication and interpersonal skills including lots of leadership, creativity and enthusiasm. Must be resourceful and demonstrate initiative. Must be self-motivated, perseverant and results-oriented. Must have strong planning, organizational and analytical ability.
